My Ideas for Welfare

As you may or may not know, I think the welfare program is pointless and doesn't work. I have an idea to keep it from being abused: put everybody who wants welfare into the US Army. Tada! Instant jobs. So never complain that it is impossible to find jobs. I have to say though, I got this idea from a K5H article.

Haha. Good plan. Soldiers get good pay. The problem is that soldiers' pays are tax funded; as is the entire army. It would be better than welfare because they are actually providing a service instead of just eating up my money. Also, everybody would feel better about it because their taxmoney is going to "protection" rather than "lazy fatasses". The only problem is that money is lost so much in welfare, and so much is just handed out, that it's impossible to end welfare, just like Social Security. Putting all welfare peeps in the army is a good idea. "Want money from the government? Join the army. Don't want to? Quit complaining."

Yeah. A lot of the dems would say it's too harsh. Too cruel. Yeah I agree, it is cruel. Then again they say it's unfair that rich people are rich and poor people are poor, as if the rich people cheated or stole to get their money. Whatever, everybody ignore that. Don't reply to it, I was just sorta ranting. Soooo here's my real comment below:

Yeah. A lot of the dems would say it's too harsh. Too cruel. Yeah I agree, it is cruel. However, the world is cruel. The world's not fair. It's impossible to make it fair in the outcome. We can't guarantee equality of outcome, only equality of opportunity. We can't get rid of poverty by just giving people more money. We can, however, ensure that a lot more people have a job opportunity in the military.

Actually, A LOT of the army IS poor, but you shouldn't force every person on welfare into the army. That won't really do al that much for the poor OR the army. I vote we try to improve low-class schools. That would decrease the problem where it starts.

Its not like there is a lack of jobs in the military. There is almost ALWAYS another fort to be manned or something. Also, right now you just pump more troops into Iraq. That way, some of the men who have been there for like a year without break can come home for a month.

It WOULD help because they would still be getting our money, but they would be working for it. Who said welfare kept people from being poor. It just keeps them from starving (sometimes). Better education is a long-term solution. This is a short-term solution.
