Rant about Self Defense

We all know about Richard and Kevin's "fight" a week or two ago. Kevin "accidentally" kicked a basketball at Richard, so Richard punched him. Kevin tried to grab Richard by the collar and "accidentally" broke his rather expensive necklace. Both of them got called to the office. Mr. Martin went on this whole "Self Defense doesn't exist in the Student/Parent Handbook" rampage. Kevin managed to get off of a suspension with the whole "I didn't use excessive force" deal. I'm not sure about Richard. First of all, the whole "there is no self defense" thing is a load of crap. If somebody is going to shoot you, then you have every right to shoot them first. The "Handbook" (another rant about that later) is sorely in need of revision. They say that diskettes can ONLY be used for carrying school-related projects on, but almost nobody has a diskette drive now. I had to special order mine. Also, they use the Handbook as a set of rules for us to follow but don't grant us the "rights" that it gives us. It specifically says (in the planbook version, the online version has been updated) that "Students may enter and leave the cafeteria at their convenience," but Mr. Frank made a rule saying that we have to have passes to leave the cafeteria. It is really hypocritical. Okay, so whatever, bye.
